What Makes a Healthy Snack?

Snacking is human nature. It’s important when you feel hungry that you honor your hunger so that you prevent overeating later on in the day. Thus, snacking is important and what you choose to snack on is equally important. So, what makes a healthy snack?

Here’s what makes a great and healthy snack:

Does the snack meet your dietary needs?

Are you kosher? Do you live a gluten-free or vegan lifestyle? Perhaps your doctor told you to cut back on sodium and sugar. Whatever your needs are, make sure your snacks meet them. (Good news, Drizzilicious snacks are all kosher, vegan, and gluten-free! Not to mention they only have 3g of added sugar in a serving).

Will the snack satisfy you?

The whole point of snacking is to silence your growling stomach. If you fail to do that, then what was the point? It’s important when choosing snacks that you pick combinations that will keep you full and silence your cravings.

Do you actually want it?

Lastly, a good snack is something that you actually want. It’s something you might even be excited about. Which means, if you don’t enjoy eating plain carrots, don’t pack them. Instead, pack them with a dipping sauce or pack something else all together.

So ultimately, what makes a healthy snack? A  healthy snack is one that not only meets your dietary needs but also satisfies you; It keeps your hunger and cravings at bay.
